You’ve heard it stated before – it’s amazing all the good a simple smile can do. While you might benefit from people smiling at you all day long, not everyone has regular interaction with positive people and can feel a little out of touch.
Most obvious is our older population. Luckily, a Reno County organization is in tune to the fact that our elders, especially those who live alone, need a reason to keep smiling … and that reason could be you!
Faith in Action is a program that began a few years ago in Reno County to connect older residents with a person in the community who made a weekly commitment to visit the person. Today the program has a new name … a process that Catalyst Creative Services helped the organization determine. We suggested a few options and the folks at Faith in Action weighed and measured their choices, ultimately deciding on Friends in Action.
The name evokes the familiar, but stresses one of the most important components of the organization – friendship. This imagery is strengthened by their tagline – sustaining their smiles. Talking with volunteers, it was very clear that their regular interaction with their elder match was something enjoyed by both, and often was the thing their elder friend most looked forward to each week.
We also developed the organization’s new logo and think it’s a great reflection of this smile sharing organization. A rack card was designed to highlight the organization and can be used in tradeshows, to mail to interested volunteers, and many other ways. It’s an affordable and multi-functional marketing piece that will greatly assist Friends in Action in their work to recruit more volunteers.
